One of the best aspects of saiing on the Norfolk Broads is just how close you get to nature. How you can get a totally different perspective on life by seeing the countryside, the water and its inhabitants close to and at different times of day.

This picture is of the famous white windmill at the head of Thurne Dyke just before dawn. The wind is still, a slight mist hangs over the water. The sky in the East is beginning to brighten and the light is a delicate blue colour before the sun makes its daily appearance. What stillness, what peace.
Close by the windmill, in the still of the dawn and surrounded by the early morning mist, the Hunter fleet lies still at its moorings resting before a busy day's sailing.
The sky lightens some more, the mist thins.
Maybe the wind will get up and we will have some serious fun.
Perhaps tacking up rivers in close company - all in the best of spirits of course.
Perhaps a bridge to negotiate?
Or just gentle progress in the sun?
Whatever it is, you are in good company.
Ending the day with a strong cup of tea - and maybe some of Eileen's cake if you are lucky!
Then bedding down for the night on a peaceful broads' mooring as the sun sets on another busy day.
