The older map is from about 1895 and was hand drawn. The section shown here is from a larger map that has been scanned and electronically treated to remove some of the ravages of age. In fairness, considering its age, the original was in fairly good shape.
The Norfolk Broads map of 1895 can be seen here. It is available for display in two forms, Northern Broads only or both the Northern and Southern Broads on one sheet.
The modern map, which is here, has been drawn using the old map as a guide. Modern roads replace the older ones, and the railway has long gone. A number of minor inconsistencies have been corrected and the information displayed has been simplified so that the items of interest to sailors are more readily seen. This map also shows the route sailed.
